I have regaled some of you lately with the tale of a recent karaoke performance of "You Can Call Me Al." Here's a pic; you can see the pain and disappointment in my face as I turn a widely-loved Paul Simon song into a train wreck. Next time I'll remember that it's much safer to stick with "Sweet Caroline". -Brendan J

Brendan--if you followed in early days (and if not, check the archive) you will know that in addition to sharing news, we find this an excellent place to mock others. Your self mocking post gains you immunity--but think of all the possibilities for goading your dad into becoming a "do-er" on the Ireland trip!

Just don't choose Billy Joel's "scenes from an Italian Restaurant" although the melody seems easy--it is mercilessly long. . . .and there's that weird changeup in the middle--not that that's ever happened to me. . .
