Let's Get Political

This will, I promise, be as non-partisan a message as i can manage.  The voting is closed for the What if only DIMS voted for President poll on the blog. As it stands, McCain and Obama are TIED. Clint Eastwood, however, seems to have overtaken Steve Martin in a late breaking sprint! He was nowhere at the beginning, but then he started getting votes. Just goes to show you. . .  BTW, the poll has been recreated on the website, so if you didn't vote on the blog, you still have a chance to be counted. More importantly, you have a chance to be counted when it really counts. VOTE in the election--make sure you are registered. I admit, I am directing this  at some of  the "younguns" who may not be registered. Make sure you are,  so you can vote in November.  I won't say I don't care how you vote--I have my druthers, of course, but my druthers don't matter. It is most important that you vote--no matter how you vote.  This is the political version of "children are starving elsewhere in the world."  There are places where people are willing to risk their lives to have a say in the leadership of their country. Our system isn't perfect by any means, but it beats many of the alternatives. And the only way to improve it is to be involved. 

Start by watching the debates. With luck, there will be a debate tonight, Friday, Sept 26
