Thank You!

Just wanted to send out a thank you to all of you who donated to such a great cause. I'm sorry it has taken so long to get this post up but post race festivities ran longer than expected. I thought I might give a little back ground as to how this whole thing got started. Back in May i started riding my roomates bike for a little exercise. One day I was on a ride and stopped at a local bike shop and noticed a flyer for a Tappan Zee Bridge bike ride. I thought it would be fun so I signed up. Shortly there after I met, through my co-worker P.J. , Nick. Nick is 28 years old and has just been diagnosed with m.s. During a game of darts we chatted about his disease and his new out look on life. It gave me some real perspective. I told him I was doing the 20 mile run and he said to me " whats the matter you cant do the 60!" Thats all I needed to hear. The next week I went out and got myself a real bike and the rest is history. Nick's out look on his new course in life has also changed my own. Live in the now do what you can today type attitude has taken root with me. I'd also like to send a special thanks to my support team! First and for most Mom. thank you for the pre race meal, the bike gear, and all the love one could ask for. Second jeff and indira. the signs and syncing my i pod on the bear mountain brige, need I say more. Lastly K.T.D! the minister of inspiration. it's not easy riding 60 miles but seeing katie leading the cheering holding her signs made it so. thanks kate we are in it for the long haul! This is probably the end of bike season with the weather change hear in the north east, but for the spring I'm recruiting all DIM's. Let's get out there and do something together! A walk a-thon,bike ride, marathon(no thanks), we can even make teams for a tri-atholon. There is something for everyone's level of fitness and level of committment. You don't even have to be athletic to be a part of something special look at what katie did! Thas all for now. Thanks again everyone . Easy Rida out! P.T.D.
